Which HHC Delivery Method is Right for Me?

Hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) is a groundbreaking cannabinoid that has only been on the market since 2020, but, has already proven to be a massively popular option for those who enjoy the more psychoactive side of the hemp plant.  What makes HHC so groundbreaking is its similarities to delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-9 THC), a federally prohibited cannabis derivative.  Its high is reported to feel almost identical to that of delta-9, and how you experience that high all depends on the delivery method that you choose.

What in the World is a Delivery Method?

The term “delivery method” refers to the way in which the cannabinoid absorbs into the body.  Examples include edibles, inhalable products (vapes, flower, etc.), and sublingual products (tinctures).  Each of these product types affects us differently, because of the manner through which hexahydrocannabinol makes its way into the bloodstream.  Every delivery method can actually have profoundly different effects.  So, it’s good to know ahead of time what these effects are in order to understand what to expect, and know which method best aligns with your personal preferences and needs.

    HHC Edibles

HHC edibles like gummies and capsules allow us to ingest the cannabinoid, which travels through the digestive tract before getting released into the bloodstream to become active.  Available in various flavors and strengths, edibles are an extremely popular choice for HHC enthusiasts.

    Pros:

#1: Effects Last for a Long Time

With edibles, you’ll enjoy the longest-lasting effects out of any delivery method – about 8 or so hours.  This is great if you want to feel HHC in your system for a large portion of the day (or night).

#2: The Body High Effect is More Noticeable

Edibles are also going to give you a stronger body high than other delivery methods.  This means that you’ll feel a stronger sense of ease throughout the muscles, and likely find yourself feeling more physically comfortable in general.

    #3: They Taste Delicious

A lot of people love edibles because they offer a tasty treat with a serving of HHC.  Gummies in particular remain hugely popular since their fruity, sweet taste is hard to resist.

    Cons:

#1: Effects Can Take a While Before Becoming Active

Because of how slow the absorption of edibles is, it can take 1-2 hours before you can actually feel the effects of HHC kick in.

    #2: Cerebral Effects are Milder

The body high is stronger with edibles, like we said before, but some people find that the cerebral effects are not as strong.  Now, that doesn’t mean you won’t feel a mental high, but it may be a bit more subdued.

    HHC Vapes

HHC vapes, such as disposable vape pens and pre-filled vape cartridges, allow us to inhale a vapor rich in hexahydrocannabinol distillate as well as terpenes.  Vapes remain the most popular way to experience the effects of HHC, dominating the market since the cannabinoid first entered the scene.

    Pros:

    #1: Fast-Acting

Because of how efficiently the lung tissue absorbs cannabinoids, inhalable products are the fastest-acting out of any delivery method, often taking effect within only minutes so you can enjoy HHC’s high in no time.

    #2: Potent

Similarly, inhalable methods are going to give you the most potent high since they absorb into the body so efficiently, so that you can really maximize your experience with HHC.

#3: Available in Lots of Great Strains

HHC vapes come in a rich selection of strains, while many other product types do not.  This means that you can really zero in on the specific effects that you wanna feel by choosing the right indica, sativa, or hybrid for your needs.

    Cons:

    #1: Short-Lived Effects

With fast-acting, potent effects, vapes also offer the shortest duration of effects out of any delivery method.  Most people feel the effects wear off in about 1-2 hours.

    HHC Flower

HHC flower is the result of taking pure, raw hemp flower buds and infusing them with pure hexahydrocannabinol distillate.  Technically, flower and vapes are the same delivery method since they’re inhaled.  But, flower has enough distinctive properties for us to consider it separately.

    Pros:

    #1: It’s Natural

The fact that HHC flower is raw, pure and unprocessed gives it a lot of appeal.  Many love the fact that they’re taking hemp in the way that’s closest to how nature intended, without any other ingredients getting in the way.

    #2: Very Bioavailable

Raw hemp flower has a high bioavailability level since, again, it’s unprocessed.  The chemical compounds are more stable since they haven’t been tampered with, and this can lead to a more potent effect.

#3: You Can Choose from Different Strains

Like vaping products, flower comes in a variety of strains, as flower is naturally a full spectrum product loaded with cannabinoids, terpenes and other desirable chemical compounds.

    Cons:

    #1: It Takes Some Work

Hemp flower isn’t “ready to go” like edibles, which you can just pop into your mouth.  Being raw, the flower needs to be activated with a vaping device or heat applied to a pipe or pre-roll.  The flower needs to be ground or broken up to fit into paper, a pipe or a vaporizer chamber.

    #2: Less Travel-Friendly

Because flower requires more preparation, and also because it can be messy, it’s probably the least practical type of HHC product to travel with.

    HHC Tinctures

HHC tinctures are oil-based products that absorb sublingually (below the tongue).  They come in dropper bottles, and, are available in various milligram strength options.

    Pros:

    #1: A Nice “Middle-Ground”

When it comes to bioavailability, which influences potency, onset time and duration of effects, tinctures as basically exactly in between edible products and inhalable products.  So, you can enjoy a nice middle ground where the effects are potent but not too potent, and “kick in” in under an hour, lasting for about 3-4 hours.

    #2: Easy to Consume

Tinctures are super easy to administer since the dropper bottle caps allow you to administer a specific amount of oil per serving.  You can easily modify your dosage based on how much you fill your dropper.

    #3: Versatile

Tinctures are most often used sublingually, but they can also be added to food if you want to enjoy HHC in edible form.  You can drop the desired amount into a prepared dish, or even use it in a recipe to enjoy homemade HHC edibles.

    Cons:

#1: Not Super Long-Lasting, Super Potent, or Incredibly Fast-Acting

Basically, if you want an HHC product that offers the longest-lasting effects, the most powerful effects or the fastest-acting effects, tinctures are not going to satisfy your needs like the other delivery methods.

Choose the Right HHC Delivery Method for a Blissful Hemp Experience

Hexahydrocannabinol can be enjoyed in all kinds of ways, through various delivery methods and product formulations.  Each product type can satisfy you in its own unique way, but at the end of the day, it’s good to consider each one carefully to end up with the best experience based on what it is that you want out of this cannabinoid.

Please Note: Before using HHC, speak with your doctor first, especially, if you’re currently on any prescription medications.  Your physician has access to your medical records and can therefore, make a proper determination if HHC is an option for you to take.
